When ordering a mouthguard you need to make sure you also choose the right thickness of guard for the type of sport you play.

Below are the 4 types of Mouth Guards

Junior = 4mm approximately - Recommended for Sportspersons up to an age of 14.

Senior = 4mm approximately - Recommended for most contact sports i.e handball, basketball, squash, American Football etc.

Elite= 6mm approximately - Recommended for Boxing, Martial Arts and Water Polo

Professional= 7mm approximately, including a layer of 2mm hard acrylic material designed to spread the force/impact from studs or sports sticks. - Recommended for Professional Athletes, especially for Rugby and Stick Sports e.g Hockey, Ice-Hockey, Polo etc

Younger people under the age of 14 or who still have milk teeth and people with orthodontic bands will require 3mm with impact dispersion band.

Anyone with fixed orthodontic appliance, fixed retainer or has loose crowns, fillings, or is otherwise concerned about their dental health should not use our Home Impression System and should have a dentist, clinical dental technician or other appropriately trained dental professional inspect their teeth and take a dental impression for them.
